  • Work with Scout Patrols.

Committee Chair

  • Organize the committee to see that all functions are delegated, coordinated, and completed.
  • Maintain a close relationship with the chartered organization representative and the Scoutmaster.
  • See that troop leaders and committee members have training opportunities. Interpret national and local policies to the troop.
  • Work closely with the Scoutmaster in preparing troop committee meeting agendas.
  • Call, preside over, and promote attendance at monthly troop committee meetings (no more than 1.5 hours) and any special meetings that may be called.
  • Ensure troop representation at monthly roundtables.
  • Secure top-notch, trained individuals for camp leadership.
  • Arrange for charter review and recharter annually.

Advancement Chairperson
Mary Maffei
  • Encourage Scouts to advance in rank.
  • Arrange and conduct monthly troop boards of review.
  • Conduct frequent courts of honor, at least three to four times a year.
  • Make a prompt report on the correct form to the council service center when a troop board of review is held.
  • Keep adequate records in the Troop/Team Record Book (Troop Software).
  • Keep records of Blue cards and all correspondence from Council.
  • Secure badges and certificates.
  • Work with the troop scribe to maintain all Scout advancement records.

  • Serves as an advisor to any Life scouts needing help with their Eagle Scout projects, paperwork, etc.
  • Any scouts wishing to begin working on an Eagle Project must first secure the Scoutmaster’s and the Troop Committee's approval.

  • Works with the family of an upcoming Eagle scout to plan the Eagle Court of Honor.
  • Requests letters of recognition from dignitaries and businesses.
  • Promotes the event within the Troop.
  • The Troop provides:
    ~ NESA (National Eagle Scout Assoc.)3 year membership
    ~ Eagle scarf and tie slide
    ~ Up to $20 for Eagle Court of Honor programs
    ~ $125 gift from the Troop

Equipment Coordinator
Jim Pillar
  • Supervise and help procure camp equipment.
  • Responsible for necessary inventory, storage, repair, and proper maintenance of Troop equipment and trailers.
  • Ensures that adequate supplies of tents, soap, propane, etc. are available prior to each campout or other outing.
  • Works closely with Troop Quartermasters.

Fundraiser Coordinator

  • Fundraisers~Seeks out and sets up fundraisers (e.g., Brisket Taco sales, etc.).
  • Fundraisers~Sets dates and finds places to have fundraisers.
  • Fundraisers~Tracks and keeps records of total fundraising sales. Gives information to Treasurer for Scout Accounts.

  • Popcorn~Runs yearly Popcorn Fundraiser, if there is interest from the Troop.
  • Popcorn~Keeps scheduled dates for Popcorn sales through Council for training and popcorn sign-up.
  • Popcorn~Promotes popcorn sales through the Troop and tracks records of total Troop sales.

    MB Counselor Coordinator
    Bob Fishback
    • Develops and maintains a merit badge counselor list.
    • Recruits new merit badge counselors through parents and outside professionals.
    • Promotes and keeps a list of merit badge counselors from other Troops within the Sioux District.

    Outdoor Activity Coordinator
    Mike Kaufhold
    • Helps in securing location for campouts.
    • Works with Troop Treasurer to ensure camping and other related costs are collected.
    • Encourages monthly outdoor activities or special activities.
    • Promotes the National Camping Award.
    • Promotes, through family meetings, attendance at troop campouts, camporees, and summer camp to reach the goal of an outing per month.
    • Obtains permission to use camping/activity sites.
    • Sends permission slips to Scouts prior to Troop activities. Serves as transportation coordinator and procures Tour Permits from the Scout Office.
    • Contacts parents to secure necessary drivers for activities and secures cooking requirements for adults.

    Secretary
    Theresa Talaber
    • Keep minutes of meetings and send out committee meeting notices.
    • Prepare a family newsletter of troop events and activities.
    • Conduct the troop resource survey.
    • Plan for family night programs and family activities.
    • Keep the Troop Roster updated and sent out to all families within the Troop.
    • Plan the charter presentation program.

    Tour Permit Coordinator
    Larry Grandshaw
    • In charge of getting tour permits for each outing that the Troop goes on.
    • Can download form through Council website. Fill out and either fax or deliver to scout office to get stamped.
    • Makes sure that the tour permit gets to the Outdoor Activities Coordinator (or adult in charge of outing) in the Troop Tour Book.

    Treasurer
    Janet Grandshaw
    • Handle all troop funds. Pay bills on recommendation of the Scoutmaster and authorization of the troop committee.
    • Maintain checking and savings accounts.
    • Report to the troop committee at each meeting.
    • Lead in the preparation of the annual troop budget.
    • Supervise the Scout accounts.
    • Train and supervise the troop scribe in record keeping.
    • Receive troop income each week from the troop scribe.
    • Supervise money-earning projects, including obtaining proper authorizations.

    Troop Chaplain/Service Hour Coordinator
    Jeanne Knotts
    • Promotes and develops the religious emblems program. This includes the scout earning the "Ad Altare Dei" and the "Pope Pius" award.
    • Works with the Chaplain's Aide to provide religious services and prayers at activities and campouts.
    • Maintains service hour records for all scouts in the Troop.
